September 2016: The rest

Just a little more miscellaneous fun from our September!

It was time to send Sassy & Pops off and get back to taking care of our own children!
And it was time for school to start!
In addition to the YMCA daycare program, we put Mason in the afternoon Whitney PreK program.  His first day was right after we got back from our trip, so it made for a bit of a rough transition for him.  I went the first day to walk him over after lunch time, but I think that was a little confusing for him and he didn't want me to leave.

We also needed some updated pictures for his "weekly calendar" to know when we would get "mommy and me" time!

Just some silly Happy-Go-Lucky Jack!

And a September camping night!

Always put out your fire!

Birthday party at Blue Fox Drive in, we didn't actually stay into the evening for the movie part, but it was fun to go do the arcade and the go karts!

One boy really into legos, one boy really into water play!

September 2016 (HAWAII! and ...Fallon)

"apprise" faces (surprise)
for breaking out the Skelly-Jammies one month early!

Thanks to me trying to surprise Jim with the trip to Hawaii last December (which I ended up booking over a "mandatory drill weekend that he could not miss"), we had airline credit that was best directed at... going back to Hawaii! So we got to go back this month, and Lola & Jen AND Sassy and Pops came to take care of the boys!

First we met Lola & Jen for a fun day in Seattle
Watching them throw fish at the market
This pic cracks me up!
 Best donuts ever!

 Space Needle!

Hotel swimming!
Everybody loves the Embassy Suites happy hour!
Because fold out couch beds are so cool...
The whole family snuggled in for a movie on my laptop

Good bye sweet boys, we are off to Hawaii!
Good luck Lola!!

We started with Mimosas at the Centurion Lounge (American Express Airport VIP snobs ;)).
And Jim surprised me with custom Oakley's for our trip :)
And things were "all go" for Lola!
For this trip, we booked at the Outrigger in Waikiki.  Jim had stayed there passing through as part of his deployment and we thought it would be a more affordable way to do our relaxin.  We got to the hotel before check in, had some lunch and massages while waiting for our room to be ready.  We walked around a bit - it was Labor day weekend and the public beaches (no private hotel beach space) were packed!  There were no cabanas or cabana girls... we were NOT feeling comfortable with this situation.  So, while we were having our massages, we called over to TurtleBay to see if they could get us in there! We forfeited one night of hotel fee, but it was worth it for us to have our most desired trip!
Ah, that's much better!  At least we know what we like!!
We went SUP (stand up paddle boarding)

And took lots of Shmoopy pictures

 Did some good relaxin
Got the occasional update that our boys were alive and well
Views from the gym, and our room
WE LOVE TURTLE BAY!

Then it was Sassy and Pops turn to take over the boys for the rest of the week:

Brave, brave souls... they took the boys over the ferry to Victoria for the weekend!

Love these pix, smiling Mason and Pops and Pops Jr!

Looks like they had time for a little excursion

 And some Jackson's ice cream!

At least before Pops fell asleep ;)

They did quite a bit of adventuring!!

Meanwhile, Jim and I had moved over to Fallon, NV for Tailhook.  It was... an experience for me to say the least.  Seriously I don't think we took a single picture?  It was a bit of a rough transition going there straight from Hawaii I must admit ;).  We stayed at the delightful Golden Nugget, and there was a social and after a day or so I had to escape the casino and get some fresh air!  It was fun to be there with Jim and get a chance to check it out, but unless other Navy wives go in the future, I'll let him take that trip by himself ;).
