August

Mason
- Things that come out of the kids mouths, NOT the way you intended!  Oftentimes, when taking a bath after dinner, we point out how big the boys' bellies are and tell them that they did a good job eating a lot of dinner.  Well, while we were eating at the fair, Mason saw a family that ALL had big round bellies.  And what does he say? "that guy has a big belly!  He must eat a lot!"  (oops!  That's not exactly what we meant... but it IS still probably true!)
- Also while we were at the fair, Mason saw the carnival all lit up when it was getting dark out and said, "It looks like a dance party over there!"
- One day he overheard me saying something about "Duncan is in heaven" (I must have been talking about him eating food or something) and Mason looked concerned and said, "Duncan died?!"
- Mason hasn't worn pull ups to nap in months.  But he has gotten into climbing up to the top of his dresser (by carrying his ottoman over) to get and put on a pull-up during nap by himself.  Sometimes because he has to pee and doesn't want to call for me, other times just to be silly.

Jackson
This boy is talking, talking, talking!
- He can say many 3-word combinations, such as Mommy help me? More melts please? and Bless you mommy (or Bless You Duncan) after hearing us sneeze/cough/burp.
- He likes to take roll every time he wakes up.  When you walk in his room, he goes "Daddy?" "Bubba?" "Duncan?" and calls for basically anyone else OTHER than who is going in to wake him up.
- He LOVES listening to our music cd's of kids singing in the car.  He usually calls the song whatever the last word is.  "More lady" (my fair lady),  "more yee haw song" (she'll be coming around the mountain".
- He also likes to say "bye" every time we are leaving someone/somewhere.  As we are driving away, "Bye friends, bye ice cream, bye playground!"
- He's saying some pretty big, 3-syllabul words!  Ice-skating (he loves to talk about "Bubba ice skating.  fall down, bum bum"), Captain Hook, Chuck E cheese, peanut butter (pronounced "peedee butah")

Apologies in advance... I can't, I just can't narrow down the pictures any more!  All of these are such sweet memories of our little wildebeests, or their friends, and I just want to keep them and cherish them forever.  Enjoy!
Super sweet corn eaters!
Mason got a big boy bike!  He started out a little timid, but he's getting more comfortable!
(this is his very first day riding)
Trying on Daddy's flight gear and "sawooting"
Actually WANTING his picture taken, while shopping at Ace hardware.
Our first experience at a 6-year old's birthday party.  It was a little intense, watching the big boys play rough, and having tons of nerf guns and weapons to play with, lol.  The boys loved it though!
Jackson sweetness.  I loved how he hopped up on the couch with his laptop.
Monkey see, monkey do!!
I heard this sweet little "hup me, hup me" and went looking for Jackson.  He had gotten stuck under his truck!
Mason getting braver with his bike, and Jackson wanting to dance!
My super cool dude
Over the Arts Festival weekend, the library did a super hero craft every day. Day 1 was a cape, day 2 was a mask, and day 3 was a pennant.  The boys loved it!
And our MaeLo friend got in on the action as well!
Super Ma[e]-Lo!
Most trips to the library include a lunch picnic!
Big boy pizza picnic (no high chair for Jackson!) and brother snuggles the next morning.
Sweet jumping friends at Mae's house!
Jackson with a smoothie, and Mason with "his yellow computer" learning to use the computer mouse to play ABC mouse.
Mason playing Wipe Out at the fair.
Look!  We're Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye!
Always happy to be eating!
I love it when these brothers play together, which is becoming more frequent!
Mae's 3rd birthday!  I love how everyone surrounds (and then pounces) the cake.
A lazy weekend morning, playing the Wii.  Jackson wanted in on the action too!
Bubble dancing and brothers reading.
Playing with Tyee at Learning and lunches, and then a picnic play date at Washington Park playground.

Smoothies in the morning and popcorn for snack!
We have new neighbors, the Anderson's, who have 4 kids.  Ages 9, 7, 5, and 2.
Mason and Jackson love to play with all of them!  "We've" gotten really into light sabers from playing with their toys, and done lots of bike riding!

We even to pizza picnics on Fridays to the park together!
(personally, I'm really excited to have a friend for ME and the kids that we can just look out the front window and see if they're home.  No coordination necessary, just walk out the door when you want to play! [or hangout]).
It's harder with two littles, but I'm trying to let Jackson help out with baking sometimes.  I know Mason was doing it at his age!  On this occasion, he ate ALL of the mashed banana I was going to put in our muffins!  Cute little stinker.
It isn't often that Jackson gets a playdate with a friend his own age, he usually just plays with Mason's friends.  This is Wes, who loves across the big street from us.  They also have a boy Mason's age (James).
Sweet and silly reading boys
Fun with baby Tate at Bayside fitness
Sweet moments captured when Daddy got back from his 2 week trip and surprised Jackson by going into his room after nap.  Kisses for Daddy!
More lovin for Daddy at Dylan's 3rd birthday part

And a bounce house too!
I remember being surprised that Mason could ride his scooter when he got it at 2 years old.
Check out little brother Jack Jack, hopping on the scooter at 18 months!
Daddy is better at pushing boys on the swings.
Not sure the kids have actually said that, but I know they think it!
Jim brought Mason a Jack and the Neverland Pirates duplo set, and Jackson an Elmo back from his long trip.
Mason found a new box of bandaids.  Ha!
Scooting with Daddy, our first trip to the "spinning park",
and a crazy day when I heard Jackson knocking at his door after nap (why wasn't he in his crib, and how did he get out??  There WAS [past tense] a bedside dresser next to his crib, not anymore!)
Another Friday dinner picnic with the Anderson's!
Jackson perfecting his pitch, and sweet little Wild Things!
No, we don't have two pilot outfits... whatever one brother wears, the other brother must also!
(Pretty sure this is an unwritten rule)
Mae and Eleanor's joint third birthday at the trampoline park.  I didn't get any pictures of Mason... he didn't stay still long enough!

...except for when the cake came out.
After bouncing, I took the boys to get out more energy at Chuck E Cheese
I asked Mason to help Jackson play a game... but apparently Jackson did NOT want help!
We were really just killing time to meet up for an early dinner with some friends at Chop 'em up!
Jackson wasn't really sure what to think, especially when the fire came!
Even Mason still covers his eyes from the fire ;)
Selfie with our friends!
It's been quite a while, but as soon as we got back home Chef Mason was back in business!
This time he even has a sous chef :)
We ended the month with a trip to the flight museum in Seattle.
Mason has been talking about shooting the bottle rockets for months!
