A few notes:
Mason
- We had a rough morning one day. He couldn't wear the first shirt I put him in because "it tasted bad", and his second shirt just wouldn't do because "it had green on it!" He's not normally picky like that, it was just one crazy morning!
- One day he asked me: "Mom, why do you like to work so much?"

-One night... I might have teared up a little bit... That sweet FOUR year old let me rock him in his rocker, dug out blankey from his closet, and let me sing all 4 verses of twinkle a few times. Thank goodness for sweet moments like this, because then there are others <keep reading>
- One day while he was sick and wanting another egg sandwich (I'm guessing I said no because I was waiting to see if he kept the first one down), he said to me: "he’s going to write me a letter that says I’m the worst mother ever and it’s going to arrive in the mailbox tomorrow. And that it is also going to instruct the police officers to put me in jail and shoot me. Oh, and I’m not invited to his 5th birthday party."
Can I just say I'm glad he's not a teenager because then I might actually be scared!

Jackson
- Every morning when he wakes up, the first thing he says is, "now where we goin?" (He still does this often almost a year later!)
Development analysis from Jackson's teachers
FaceTiming with Daddy
Jim held his computer screen up to the mirror so Mason could watch Mason FaceTime with Daddy.

THIS was a rough day. This is me drinking a mimosa while recording lectures while Mason sleeps on the floor next to me because he didn't want to be in his bedroom alone.
I have to say building a brand new online course while Jim was gone for the semester was not the best idea!

Snuggles make the mom-job worth it!
Pretty good dribblin for an almost two year old!
This kid seriously got a memo that it was his 2nd birthday.
He LITERALLY woke up as an indecisive argumentative 2 year old! He refused to put either a pull up or underwear on.
He must have just wanted to stay in his birthday suit!

We finally made it out the door for a special birthday breakfast at Donut House
Oh dear. Another 2 year old moment.
After 10 minutes of just holding his donut, I broke it in half.
I.e., I RUINED THE DONUT AND THE DAY

<3 Jackson's first drum set <3
Here he is just laying on his beloved new basketball, watching his drumming video over and over.
<3 <3 My Valentine remembered Valentines day in the midst of his hard-working-scuba-diving deployment. <3 <3
I do think there was hard work going on, but I can still give him a hard time for having some fun!

Fun robot building toy from Aunt Lauren!
The birthday boy parties!
Kid chaos!
Mrs. Daryl for the win with the Momma Bear Drum!
He just wanted me to record him so he could watch himself :)

Another 2 year old moment: refusing to get off Mason's bike and come back inside!
"bunk beds"
Another early birthday prezzie for Mason
(thanks Mrs. Daryl!)

Praying at church <heart melt>
A different mustache in each picture...
Nope, there's no way the second picture is a red wine mustache. Clearly I was watching my little tyke and my glass of wine like a hawk.

4 sugar high kiddos in the same picture!
Thanks to Lola, I'm feeling pretty safe in our house!
Happy Jack
Grandpa Kerry and Uncle Chad came to visit for a weekend!
Uncle Chad spoiled the boys with toys and cookies!
All things super heroes come out when Uncle Chad is around ;)
Spidey showed Grandpa Kerry around Western Washington
Pretty awesome Spidey singer!
And Grandpa helped Jack Jack take a spin on Mason's bike!
I don't remember why I was getting this snuggle from this sleeping boy, but we both seemed to be loving it!
The whole group selfie!
After taking G-pa Kerry back to the airport, we went straight to a classmate's (Sophie's) birthday party. As a mom of two boys, I have dubbed this: "the party that princesses threw up on" HA!
All of the boys sat in a little cluster together, I think they were a little overwhelmed!
Finally, some swords! LOL!
At a playdate I copied their BRILLIANT idea of color coding duplos (and legos also in the coming months!)
Too much happiness to just pick ONE photo!
Time to start getting ready for Mason's partay!
This little baller boy: all on his own, he asked if we could take his basketball with us in the car while we were on the way to school, so that he could shoot hoops when we got there!
I'm not really sure! Just whatever big bro does, little bro is going to do.
Now look who's here... more visitors: Sassy and Pops!
Pizza picnic movie night!
Jackson likes to eat the toppings and his crust.
This boy has been quite the snuggle requester while Daddy has been gone. While it is sweet, it is exhausting at multiple hours throughout the night!
Like I said, Baller Boy!!
Jackson's birthday present from S&P!
Handy helper buddies
Children, children! Before 7 am is NOT wake up time.
ESPECIALLY on the weekend. Now lay quietly in mommy's bed and watch a show (and eat your fruit stick) while momma sleeps!

Dang he sure is cute when he's sleeping!
I think the boys might be exhausting our Sassy and Pops!
Guess where we are headed??
Mason's LEAP birthday party
(I have to post a picture of his shirt here because he wasn't really interested in wearing it since he wanted to wear a costume!)
We had a fun little photo booth with props :)
Jackson picking on Tate and then asking him to pull his hair, HA!
Back to donut house the next morning on his FIRST real birthday: February 29th!
