And here we are in Key West for Part 2 of the tour!
We stayed in a town house on the base, it had 3 bedrooms upstairs, and plenty of things for the boys to get into in the kitchen :) Jackson still LOVES balls, you can see his anticipation here (on the left) while I am blowing it up.
Mason parked himself and his bucket of sand toys AS SOON as our feet touched the sand off the pier. We had to convince him to come down a bit closer to the water :).
I was so thankful to have Sassy and Pops there to help manage both of the kiddos, help us carry things, and take some pictures!

Waking up from nap sweet and happy
Coincidentally, while on this trip, one of my friends said something to the effect of "I wish I had the kind of excitement about anything that kids have about bubbles" so I just HAD to pull these pictures out to show her! And I agree!!
Sassy and Pops stayed at the Waldorf the last few nights we were in Key West, and we had access to all of the fabulous amenities! I just love watching Jackson walk around with Daddy (although it also makes a momma cringe a lot when they are going up stairs and walking at the end of the dock!)
Jackson. Water. Balls.
He still grabs my phone and says "ball? wawa?" almost DAILY to look at these pictures.

My favorite part about a snuggle nap. Seeing his sweet schleeps!
One day was stormy rainy, so after being stuck inside all day, we checked out the butterfly museum. Though I think the flamingos were the biggest hit.
Sassy and Pops did some baby sitting 2 evenings while Jim and I went to some dinner celebrations for the outgoing and incoming COs.
One day Aimee hung out at the resort for us and she was my life saver!
She got down and dirty in the sandy, held the kids in the water, and splashed and played all morning! She deserves a humanity award ;)

Family pix with the plane!
The change of command happened during the nap time hour, so I knew it might be tough.
Mason LOST IT at the post-reception, out of tiredness. There was some serious kicking and screaming and drooling and spitting. I don't really even remember what about. Once we finally made it back to our house, I got in a good snuggle nap with him. We actually had to leave for our dinner while he was still asleep - I'm sure that made for an interesting evening for Sassy and Pops!

Alyssa, me, Aimee, and Moni at Jimmy's outgoing CO celebration
Sassy and Pops left Friday morning, so it was just me and the boys, but we still had access to their fancy resort! I managed to keep them away from water activities for a few minutes ;). Lower stress for momma.
The staff came around and handed out kabobs of frozen grapes
We got to watch a training class for scuba diving (Mason was enamored!)
And also watched a sand sculpture being made of someone's pet dog, for their wedding!

There was a little sign that said, "take selfie here" so - we tried our best!
But some nice passer-by offered to give us a little assistance.
It was very bright! As you can see, Mason needing to physically hold his eyes open ;).
We had a great restaurant suggestion for our last night in Key West.
It was a great end to a really fun trip!
(but not to be confused as a vacation... definitely NOT a vacation to take a 1 year old and a 3 year old to the beach!)
Daddy took snuggle duty that night to help Mason fall asleep.
I wasn't sure what he was doing, until I heard some SERIOUS snoring!
6:00 am, car loaded up, and ready for a 4 hour drive back to the airport! (phew!)
Mason unzipped the stroller bag and climbed in himself!
Just a sample of the monkey business we put up with at the airport (or anywhere we go!)
Jackson loves to "cheese" for the camera.
And another little airplane snuggle nap with my boys (not always the most comfortable for momma, but the best option versus more hours of in-flight entertainment!)
Airport shenanigans, Jackson's first time walking on an escalator, and Mason being one of the characters from Paw Patrol (hmm...)

This is how we roll: Jim with a backpack, his bag, and 2 car seats
Me with my backpack, Mason's carry on, my suitcase, the boys' suitcase, and pushing the stroller with the boys. Phew!
