- he must have to "redo" things at school when he doesn't do it right the first time. One day I was trying to reach back in the car to hand him some rocks, and I accidentally let go and [gently] threw them towards him. He handed them back to me and said I needed to try again, and hold on tighter. The next day, he was running with a screw driver and I reminded him that he needed to walk, and he actually walked all the way back to wear he got the screw driver and said, "ok, I will try it again."
- He is really interested in asking how old everyone is. If we are having a conversation about a person, he will interrupt to ask how old they are. And he asks Jim and I many times a day "what is your name" and "how old are you" sometimes followed by "what is your favorite color".
- I let him order his own lunch at the deli one day, and he said "peanut jelly and butter" and it was just the sweetest sounding thing ever!
Jackson
- Moved him to his nursery this week! It didn't start out very well. We were still swaddling him in the pack-n-play. (I was surprised he still liked it at his age, but he wasn't trying to roll over in it or anything.) Well, it must have been because the p-n-p was so soft, because as soon as we put him on the firmer mattress swaddled, he rolled over and got stuck on his face. He was usually asleep and swaddled when we put him down, so putting him down didn't really wake him. Taking the swaddle away sure changed that!
The first night we played the "5 minutes of soothing in crib, 5 minutes of crying it out" game for about 40 min in the middle of the night. Even when I comforted him he didn't stop crying :-/ I finally took him out and rocked him for 5 minutes. So far he's not crying being back in his crib. I ended up sleeping in his room a few times this first week.
Looking all happy in his new crib after a GREAT SOLID 2-HOUR NAP
So refreshing for everyone!!
My view of the kids care room at the gym. Mason likes to stand at the door and arch when I do the "pulley things"
Thursday we had a fun play date with Eleanor and Ms. Julia. We started at Washington Park, went for a walk around the loop, then the kids got to play at the park and throw rocks at the beach. Here we are waiting for our delicious geradeli lunch (left) and then watching Eleanor open her birthday present (right).
This just melts my heart!!
Shopping with my buddy; Ace Hardware might be my new "go to" place!
Snapped this photo will we were playing at the library park one day. It's not that great of a picture, BUT it reminded me of a little buddy about 14 months ago...
He has grown so much!!
Some days he gets irritated by Duncan (don't we all??), other days he couldn't care less about him. This particular day, he wanted to make sure to give Duncan a hug and a kiss before we went out the door. It was very sweet.
My and my Aggie boys
Another successful football game viewing with our boys at our house
Everyone was happy!
Mason wanted to sit on my lap, next to Jackson...
But then he wasn't very happy with Jack Jack grabbing on to him. Ha ha!
Sunday play date with Mae. It was pretty awesome, they pretty much had the park to themselves, and just chased each other around with Mason directing all sorts of imaginary play. Daryl and I actually got to sit on a park bench and chat a bit!
No more sitting in the high chair seat, Mason is officially at the table in a big boy chair!
Happy Jack doin some exersaucin
Mason's bed is getting a bit full!
I asked him how he was going to sleep, so he demonstrated for me on the right.
Baseball boy
His face is clearing up pretty well!
I sent the above picture to my mom (Lola) to send her an update, then we had to send her a kiss as well :)
