- loves quoting (and singing) Frozen. One night at dinner, he turned to Jim and said, "What's wrong with your hair? It's turning white!" I'm pretty positive this was just one of his Frozen quotes, but I couldn't stop laughing!!
Jackson had an adventurous week!
- We went to dinner with Mr. Chachi and Mrs. Aimee in Oak Harbor one night. The waitress flipped the high chair over so we could clip his car seat onto it (I've never been a big fan of this). Well, long story short, as soon as we set him in there, the high chair fell over and my poor sweet boy banged his head right on the edge of the table! He definitely scream-cried for a little while, I had to take him out of the restaurant and they brought me some ice. But he actually calmed down fairly quickly, I think Jim and I were more distraught by the whole thing!
- Monday his 2nd tooth popped through on the bottom.
- We've introduced some other foods over the past week: avocados, carrots, and then based on some constipation we added in pears next. (Much more to come on the constipation next week... you have so much to look forward to!)
Most importantly this week, my little guy is SIX MONTHS OLD!!
(Really?? When did that happen??!) Everything he does is pretty awesome.
Like the way he:
- groans while falling asleep (which typically involves us bouncing him, so you get a good "UhhhUhhhUhhhUhh" soundtrack while putting him down).
- screams his loud PteryJacktyl screams, then smiles all proud when you look at him.
- bangs his little straight arms up and down in excitement.
- and "runs" really fast with his feet in the air while laying on his back when you take off his diaper.
And he really lights up my world when he smiles with his mouth wide open, which seems to be his every day expression... he's such a happy guy!
- He still enjoys laying on his back to play (and still loves his rain forest play mat, which has been a savior for me working from home!)
- He also really likes the exersaucer and the jumperoo (lots of ways to keep happy while I'm working or cooking dinner!)
- He is not quite sitting up by himself yet, but sits pretty well in the Bumbo.
- He is doing pretty good with tummy time these days, squirming and scooting just a little bit with his head down and his knees pulling in, and is rolling over better (especially belly to back).
- He seems to have regressed with falling asleep at night and with sleeping as long (it always seems to be something... teething, not a full belly, uncomfortable constipation belly, took too late of a nap...). And napping is hit or miss any given day - as to how easy it is to put him down and how long he'll sleep - but he has a typical pattern of about 3 naps a day for 30 min to multiple hours.
So he's definitely left himself some room for improvement, but he is a definite keeper!!
And after I made it sound like I toss him around from toy to toy so I can work, I should mention he gets lots of snuggle time in the ergo as well!
Enough rambling, on with the cuteness!

SOMEBODY took over mine and Jack's rocking chair.
You know, just a beer coozie on his sippy cup
Left: Breakfast with Aimee (and Ashley and Mason were there also but didn't make it in any pictures this time) when she was visiting!
Right: Aimee holding Mason in June 2012, same outfit!
My little flirt
If our friends Jason and Michelle have anything to say about it, this guy is a future Jimmy Buffet "Parrot Head"
In regards to Jim's meeting with a brewery last week...
This Friday night was "Beer Fest" for the Growler squadrons. Jim did a lot of the work for his squadron's booth
From coordinating the booth "festivities" and meeting with the brewery
To ordering his squadron "sweatsedos" Yes friends, velour track suits.
And guess what?? It paid off, his [squadron's] booth won!
Proud wife. ;)
Weekend shopping with one cutie and one Patootie
Mason entertains Jackson, and starts to sing the ABC's or Twinkle-Twinkle to him anytime he starts to get a little fussy.
Jackson CLEARLY loves his brother, he lights up every time Mason is near.
I took my dates to dinner at Olive Garden.
Mason ate his body weight in bread dipped in 5-cheese marinara, and then licked all of the salad dressing off of the tongs (after serving us both our salad)
Jackson started with a purse appetizer, followed up by pears which I remembered to bring in a little cooler, without remembering to bring a spoon or a bib.
Mason loves pretending like he's "stuck" on things, and needing a few squirts of oil to get unstuck. He pretends to squirt with his finger while saying "ee-er, ee-er".
Anyway, we had some squeaky doors in the house that were driving me bonkers, so we got out the WD and went to work!
On the right he's saying, "Don't. Take My PICTURE!". Grumpus. Cute grumpus.
(too busy looking at Mason to look at my camera)
Twenty-six weeks... that's half a year!!!
