July brought some beautiful summer days and a very special trip to Vegas for Jim's change of command to Commanding Officer!
(hmm, you walk inside for ONE MINUTE to grab something!)
Vegas bound!
First night out, with Grandpa Kerry.
I was so impressed with this lady standing like a statue, but she clearly had a seat built inside her pants. She fooled me for a minute!

Mine and Jim's favorite breakfast spot
We love "really thin pancakes!"
We love "really thin pancakes!"
We loved all our pool time at the hotel!
And made it down to the M&M store for some treats!
I got to take the boys to the Tournament of Kings where we cheered for Ireland!
Sassy and Pops got to town, and the whole gang went out to Blue Man Group!
The boys loved it! We knew Jackson would, our little percussionist. It was such a fun night!
Friday night dinner reception for the outgoing CO
The ladies spent some time enjoying some 90's music in the lounge upstairs.

This was at midnight once we got home!
Jim's Change of Command
it was VERY WARM in the hangar!
The new Skipper!
(Love this picture of his proud Poppa)

<this guy is still under command in our household though!>
More pool time: 3 double strollers!
Vegas baby... or shall we say, Vegas with babies!

Watching the gondola boats at the Venetian
We stayed in the Palazzo, which was conveniently connected

Then more adult time:
The XO serving the CO through the ice luge
Everyone rocked out with this community drink
It was yummy and a little disgusting to pass around!

What we returned home to that night zzzzzz.
I took the sidelines and let Jim enjoy some pool time ;)
I actually went and sat near the bar to have wifi to get some school grading done, but ended up running into a few of Jim's squadron buddies and having an extra drinky drink :p
Venetian special treat gelato!
A fun family outing at the S.T.A.T.I.O.N.: Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network!
Briefing, and fighting while on the cycle
Mommy-SMASH!
Security cameras and Thor's hammer
Visual training, tracks your eye movement for the target and you blink 2x when you want to shoot!
"Dad, can we stand right here so we can see those?"
"Yes son, we can."
"Yes son, we can."
(pretty sure "those" was pirate ships, but this exchange was pretty great!)
One final dinner and goodbyes with Grandpa Kerry!
Momma's drankin, Daddy's entertainin
Another special treat for me and the boys, I had been dying to try out Carlo's canoli!
One final night of family snuggles <3
And a little more pool time!
Jackson loves to "juggle water" - not sure where it started, but his face is hilarious!
Two fire trucks sprayed off the jet to signify Betsy (outgoing CO)'s last flight.

And that was the end of our awesome Vegas adventure.
Still a bit more July cuteness to share!
Children's Museum
Some kids at the children's museum wouldn't stop talking about the new train ride in the mall, so we had to do it!
Daddy was out of town, but the rest of us snuggled
Double fisting the corn!
Potty-training Jack Jack
2 kids and a bike on a single stroller.
Because apparently Mason's leg hurt too much from getting 3 shots to ride his bike the 1 mile back. (I can't say I blame him!)
Working on the poops!
He picked a harmonica at the toy store earlier in the week, and finally earned it!
I think the summer concert series at the Marina might be one of my favorite Anacortes memories. Relaxing picnic time, fun music, gorgeous views, kids play!
Mason got measured at 43" at the doctor this week, looks like he's too tall for the kids play area now!
More Children's Museum
Farmers market fun. Don't remember where Jim had gone, but he's back home now!
More water play and riding through the car wash.
And another month of fun and excitement in the books!
